This is a touchy subject. And quite frankly I do not care. Before I get started I want to make it very clear that I am neither Democrat or Republican . I refuse to jump and y'all cat fight for a country where certain people don't consider us citizens in the first place based off of how the 14th Amendment came about . I speak about this in another article. I want to first break the ice with Trevor Noah's video regarding racism and South Africa versus racism in America.
This three minute video is where you can find the quote which is above. Trevor Noah so eloquently describes the difference between racism in South Africa versus racism in America. Basically is blatant versus subliminal. Long story short the Dutch inhabited South Africa using racist tactics for dominance known as apartheid.
Below is a 3 minute video by PBS that quicklyexplains the origins of critical race Theory and why it was brought about. I was shocked to learn that this was something that was talked about in the '80s. This made me wonder why all of a sudden is it a thing now post pandemic.
I was especially shocked when my county wanted to teach this and immerse this in the curriculum. It may absolutely no sense when they dismissed the racism that my children were experiencing in the public school system. The children as well as staff members were slain the n-word around as if it was just another word even excusing it as if it was okay to use it and explanatory purposes.
It was mind-blowing because I grew up in an all black County where we learned that this was something prior to the help of Martin Luther King. It was so blatant that there were racist terms burned into a football field not too long ago.
And let's not forget about the Maryland delegate Mary Ann Lisanto who referred to Prince George's County as the "N$%ger district" back in 2019. I feel the need to make it very clear that this was a Democrat. So let's not think that racism is only reserved for republicans. There are racists on both sides.
One thing that I've learned about people. Trying to get a white supremacist to acknowledge something as absurd as racism is as ridiculous as it is as trying to get a cheating spouse to acknowledge that they are cheating. Sure you can find the condoms and lipstick stains. You may even find text messages. But if that person believes that you are going to go for the lie that they're spewing which is I'm not cheating on you, why should anything change let alone you receive and acknowledgment?
This is no different. Why do we keep expecting that one day we're going to get this acknowledgment when historically that is not what America is built on. The fact that they're pushing this is founded in funding. I don't know what's worse. The fact that white supremacists refuse to acknowledge that America is founded in white supremacy or the fact that the undercover white supremacists are pushing waking up a segment of society on the premise of receiving Federal funding. Shouldn't it be free?
If I want to teach something to my children shouldn't it be free? I mean should somebody have to pay me to tell my children the truth? Let's go even further than that. This is 2022. Your children have more than likely already Googled everything there is to know about the origins of the racism within this country and have chosen whether or not they're going to embrace it. Even if you have a problem with what's going on in public school system don't you have the option of teaching your children at home? I know some people think that this is not possible but there are plenty of homeschooled children whose parents work full-time and did not have to pay what private school costs? It is doable it's just not talked about. I could go on for days but I'm going in this here.
