Entitled 1st time clients

I came across a tiktoker whose view of business is completely unrealistic. It's one thing to complain. It's an entirely different thing to tag the business, drag & bully her for no legitimate reason.

(Click here to view her video)

There were several points she made in her video that I wanted to address in this article.

1. SALONS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS 1 MAN OPERATIONS

We don't have a receptionist. Sometimes you may not get a confirmation until the morning for last minute appointment changes. I just got home & it's around 10pm. I sometimes schedule messages for the morning because 10pm may be too late. I literally just went grocery shopping and am barely keeping my eyes open typing this article. I literally have to be up again around 5am to be at work by 8am tomorrow.

2. If you're a 1st time client , late arrivals mean you may not be coming.

This lady literally was 18 minutes late. After 15 minutes, I assume you're not coming(especially new clients). For this lady to show up 18 minutes late with no communication is completely hypocritical to her "communication " standard she gave the stylist.

3. Late arrivals can throw off our schedule for the entire day.

On Saturday (which was when her appointment was scheduled), we are usually really busy. 20 minutes can make or break you especially if it's a new client. We don't know what to expect. You may be tender headed or want a complicated service. Even at a doctor's office new patients can only have certain time slots. This is to allow room for time to complete forms, triage etc that may take longer than on a long time patient.
