My experience going on the archery and fishing field trips was about the same; I enjoyed them for the first 15 minutes of both of them, but they began to be less enjoyable. Most likely because I only hit one bullseye and caught zero fish.
My overall difference between a homeschool field trip and a public school field trip is that the adults have to monitor 1 child (me), while in public school they have to monitor more than 15-20 at a time. It's pretty hard to keep track of that many students.
